A Life of Faith and Service

Chaplain Lunetta Savana Mitchell, born in Beaumont, Texas, USA, in 1954 to Luther Sharpe and Helen Weston, peacefully transitioned on June 1, 2025, at the age of 70. She was a woman of deep faith, immense love, and unwavering dedication to God’s call on her life.

Lunetta was a passionate servant of the Lord. She was the founder of House of Hope, a transitional living facility for newly released women on parole in need, and Tree of Life Ministries, a powerful apostolic ministry with a global reach, including India, Guyana, Ghana, and throughout the United States.

Her bold and prophetic voice touched countless lives and inspired a generation of leaders, pastors, and believers. She was a spiritual mother, teacher, and intercessor who lived and ministered under the unction of the Holy Spirit.
Lunetta served faithfully as a Chaplain for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, most notably at the Darrington Unit (now known as the Memorial Unit) in Rosharon, Texas, USA.

Her work extended through the Voyager and Wrap Around Programs at Plane State Jail and beyond, where she mentored, counseled, and led with compassion and conviction. She also volunteered with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, Houston Police Department (HPD), and Precincts 3 and 5.
Over many years of service, she helped transform broken lives into testimonies of healing and redemption. She was also an active member and leader within multiple church communities, including the Passion 4 Prison Project in Houston, Texas. Her influence spanned pulpits, prison cells, street corners, and sanctuary altars alike.

Everyone who knew her knew how much she loved to laugh and share stories. Lunetta will always be remembered for her spiritual boldness, her kindness, and the way she always made time to minister—whether to a stranger in need or a family member in distress. She will be deeply missed every single day. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all those she inspired, healed, and led to Christ.
