Who We Are
ABOUT US
In May 1988, while watching local news in Enugu, Nigeria, our global director, Amb. Chuck Onyekwena witnessed a young man sentenced to death for stealing 500 naira (25 cents). Moved with compassion and prompted by the Holy Spirit, he visited the inmate, prayed, and gifted a Bible. This encounter gave birth to the “Passion 4 Prison Project”.
At Passion 4 Prison Project, we believe that no wall is too high for grace to climb and no life too broken for God to restore. Our work is born out of a burning conviction—that every incarcerated person carries immeasurable worth, divine potential, and the right to a hopeful future.
We exist to ignite spiritual renewal, emotional healing, and personal transformation behind bars through faith-based outreach, mentorship, and holistic support. Our team of volunteers and partners bring worship services, educational workshops, and life-building programs that help inmates rediscover purpose, rebuild relationships, and re-enter society with dignity.
Beyond the prison walls, we strive to create bridges between correctional facilities, families, and communities—because restoration doesn’t end at release. It begins with a renewed identity and continues with the embrace of a community that believes in second chances.
We are more than a ministry; we are a movement of light-bearers bringing hope, healing, and purpose behind bars. Together, we are turning prisons into sanctuaries of transformation—where redemption becomes reality.
